The surface has been layered, torn back and rebuilt — the history is in the texture. It’s not meant to be clean. It’s meant to feel real.
Across Bowie’s face is a diamond-dust lightning bolt — a nod to the Aladdin Sane / Starman era.
But here, it sits over the Major Tom narrative, a character floating, detached, and pulled away from the world.
The diamond dust catches light the way his identity caught attention, impossible to ignore, even when the person underneath is somewhere else entirely.
